Polydor dispatched the band to LA to collaborate with Earth, Wind & Fire’s Larry Dunn and Verdine White. Standing In The Light streamlined the band’s British jazz-funk sound while commercialising it. The album’s first single, Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind, missed the UK Top 40.
