Having been at the helm of the women’s fashion industry for nearly three decades, Jo Hooper saw it all; changes that occurred in their lives. People do not need to dress for work formal or for an occasion every day when many women are employed and have new flexible working schedules. Jo, who had a lifelong fascination with the Japanese idea of “one-mile wear,” set out to design garments that would do just that: give you comfort and joy when you are putting them on and when you are using them from home, to nearby and far.
When Jo realized that there was a need for comfortable clothing that was also bright and fun to wear and that could be worn most of the time, she tapped the help of Cornelia Smith, her former co-worker and friend when they were both still in the corporate world to start NRBY Clothing. When nothing can be predicted and the ability to move is crucial, when it is impossible to shop by ‘seasons’, and when only the best fabric touches their skin.
