Luke embodies the modern man, the gentleman, and the working class hero in a way that is both realistic and a reflection of modern menswear. The rough elements of Birmingham, the brand’s hometown, are key influences. Luke, a foundry worker turned fashionista, has impeccable taste. Luke’s philosophy is to update any menswear item with a stylish spin while preserving its relaxed, manly vibe. The United Kingdom of Luke is an inclusive country, and the brand gives an exclusive look for that country.
Luke Roper was born in Walsall Wood, West Midlands, to a hardworking father and an accomplished dressmaker mother. He discovered a knack for football and sewing machines by the age of 12, and by the time he was fifteen, he was making custom shirts for his friends. Before long, he had become something of a celebrity in the area, with guys from all over ordering his one-of-a-kind designs and creations, and they would rock the clubs of the wild West Midlands dressed in Luke’s unique creations.
At the age of twenty, he travelled to London, where he earned a degree in menswear design at Central St. Martins, the country’s preeminent fashion institution. During his time here, Luke polished his craft and came up with an idea to create the top menswear brand in the UK with Simon Poole, a lifelong family friend. After Luke graduated, he and Deborah Poole embarked on a quest to launch their nascent business.
